AlterNet
I’ve recently started reading a great alternative news site called AlterNet. The writers for this site somehow manage to crank out a huge number of really intersting stories. For example:
- We’re All Born Atheists: An interesting primer on one of the most vilified and misunderstood minority groups in the U.S.
- Arch-Conservative U.S. Christians Help Uganda ‘Kill-the-Gays’ Bill Stay Alive: Discusses how some vile Christian organizations are behind Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act of 2009.
- The School Lunch Bureaucracy, Unraveled: Quite a sobering look at what’s going on behind the scenes of U.S. school cafeterias.
- Sharron Angle Is Coming for Your Pot, Booze, and Porn, But She Says You Can Keep Your Guns: Talks about Sharron Angle, a Teabagger politician from Nevada who is running for a seat in the U.S. Senate, and how she has some not-insignificant ties to Christian Reconstructionism.
Get over there and read some articles!
EDIT: More good stuff:
- Do You Care Whether the Religious Ideas You Believe in Are True or Not?: Interesting discussion about private beliefs vs. actual reality.
- Rush Limbaugh’s Homophobic, Hatemongering Minister: Honestly, who is surprised by this…
